Russian Castles Award (Fortress of Russia) is issued to any licensed radio-amateur or SWL who submits proof of radio contact with stations working form fortresses (*), or adjacent territory in radius no more than 1 km, located on territory of the Russian Federation. All contacts must be confirmed by copies of QSL cards (xerocopies or scanned images are valid).
Each object gets the number under R.C.A. program (for example RC-001, etc.)
Contacts are valid since January 1st, 2006. r. There are no restrictions in bands and MODE. Each RC number is valid ONLY ONCE.
There are basic award, two labels and memorial plate (HR).
The basic award is given for 15 QSO/SWL.
The label 1 is given for 30 QSO/SWL.
The label 2 is given for 45 QSO/SWL.
The memorial plate (HR) is given for 60 QSO/SWL.
(*)Following historical objects are valid:
- Fortresses;
- Stockaded towns (ostrog in Russian);
- Fortifications;
- Castles;
- Citadels;
- Kremlins;
- Fortresses-monasteries;
Fortresses having a number under R.C.A. list are valid.

Cost of the "base" diploma: $8 (IRC 15).
Cost of labels: $3 (IRC 4).
Cost of a memorial plate (HR): $42 (IRC 60).
The diploma is given on the basis of the application (an extract from log) and certified by signatures of two licensed radio-hams and x-copies QSL cards (the award manager has the right to demand QSL for checking).
The fee for the basic award is 150R for Russians,
$US5 or 10 IRC for CIS country amateurs
and $US8 or 15 IRC for all others.
Endorsement fees are 50R for Russians,
$US2 for CIS
and $US3 for all others.
Fee for the plaque is $US35 for Russians,
$38 for CIS
and $US42 for all others.
